Review: True Love Story by Willow Aster

February 21, 2013

Sparrow Fisher is transforming. No longer dressed up in antiquated clothes and ideals, she is finally trying on her freedom.

Before she moves to New York City, she meets Ian Sterling, a musician Sparrow has dreamed about since she first saw him. The attraction is instant, but their relationship isn't so simple.

Over a five year span, Sparrow and Ian run into each other in unusual places. Each time, Sparrow has to decide if she can trust him, if he feels the same for her, and finally, if love is really enough.

Oooo I really enjoyed this book. It had everything a wonderful life needs. Adventure, a great bestie, supportive parents and true love.

The book starts off present day with Sparrow and Ian running into each other and spending some time catching up. You know there was a relationship and you know it went wrong but you don't know how. All you know is that it was bad and you hurt for them.

Sparrow and Ian make me so excited. I just love their connection. They meet at a lunch with her parents friends and the connection is STRONG. Unfortunately right after they meet, Sparrow is off in NY for school and Ian is a working musician and travels all over the world. With them always off on their own thing, they don't have a typical relationship. They come in and out of each others life and while their together, it's magic.

But two people can't really maintain that type of relationship for long. Sooner or later, it's not enough but Ian's never done the relationship thing and Sparrow is constantly wondering if love is enough.

I loved him calling her Little Bird. I loved his intensity.

I would have liked to see more of Sparrow outside of her relationship with Ian.

The third day he's sad and all hands. (I know he thinks the handsy approach will work because he knows I have a slight weakness towards the slutty. Okay, not just slight.)
