Blog Tour: Ignite by Tessa Teevan

Title: Ignite (#1, Explosive Series)
Author: Tessa Teevan
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: October 30, 2013

After nearly a year and a half of grieving the loss of her husband, twenty-seven year old Alexa Sullivan Tate is headed back to her hometown after a decade of being away. She has no idea her high school crush, Jace McAllister, the guy who stole her heart the same night that he broke it, is more than ready to pick up the pieces.

Jace has spent the last ten years in the Army defusing bomb after bomb, trying to forget the girl who ignited all his passions. Little does he know that the spark still exists.

Ten years ago they had smoldering chemistry, but the spark between them now might light a fuse that leads to an explosion even Jace can't stop. Not that he wants to. If only Alexa can get past her guilt and trust her heart again.

But how do you put it all on the line when you've already lost everything once before?

*While this is a series, each book will be standalone with spinoff characters.

Ignite was sexy, it was sweet, it was funny and it just made you believe in love.

Lexi has spent the better part of a year wallowing in the grief of losing her husband. Drinking herself to sleep, in order to avoid nightmares. Her sister, tired of seeing Lexi in pain decides to take matters into her own hands and invites her sister to go with her back home for her 10 year reunion. After Lexi agrees, she drops the bomb. Jace will be there.

Lexi was in love with Jace throughout high school but she was strictly friend zoned. That is, until the day before he left for the Army, he shares with Lexi that he's in love with her and wants to be with her when he gets home from boot camp. Unfortunately things don't go as planned and life moved on. But now they have a second chance.

Poor Lexi, so damn confused sometimes you just want to smack her but who am I to determine her grief period. And Jace, he just might have been the perfect male specimen. Patient, understanding, loving, open, honest, and demanding when the time is right.

This was a great read though perhaps a smidge too long. I'm excited to discover more from Tessa. Best part about this book is some very funny or perfect dialogue that had me either saying out loud "damn straight" or laughing hard.

Jace has me pressed up against the side of his car, his hands cupping both sides of my face. Looking into my eyes, he leans in, stopping just inches from my lips. I think he’s about to kiss me when he speaks instead.

“I told you I’d come back.”

A smile breaks out on my face when he closes the space between us, pressing his lips against mine. His kiss is soft and slow to begin with, but I’ve been aching for his touch for weeks, so I slide my hands up his t shirt, letting out a soft moan when I make contact with his skin. At the sound, his kiss hardens, and his tongue is against my lips, begging for entrance. They part immediately, allowing his tongue to collide with mine and our kisses turn frantic as we try to make up for lost time. His hands move to the small of my back before he slips them under my shirt and he traces small circles over my skin, causing me to shiver. My hands move over his taut abs as I make my way up his muscular chest. My thumb grazes his nipple, and he groans, breaking our kiss.

“Fuck, I’ve missed you,” he says in a husky voice, wrapping his arms around me in a tight embrace. My head leans against his hard chest, where I can hear his heart pounding. Smiling silently to myself, I’m secretly thankful that he still seems to be as affected by me as I am by him.

I'm a twenty six year old book junkie who is also obsessed with sports. Bengals, Buckeyes, Reds are my teams! I work for the government during the day, hang out with Air National Guard on the weekends, and am married to a guy 15 inches taller than me. We're quite the pair! We currently live right outside of Dayton, OH with our two cats.

I've been reading since I was a kid. My mom was a librarian, so it was a given. Heck, she even made sure we watched Wishbone instead of the Smurfs. In 2011 when I graduated from college, my mom bought me a Nook, and then in the summer of 2012 I found this amazing site called Goodreads. I was introduced to so many amazing indie/self-published authors. After reading almost 400 books that year, my husband gave me the push to finally sit down and write my own. It was a rocky start, but over time the words started flowing and I couldn't get Jace and Lexi out of my head.

If I’m not writing or looking through tons of photos of hot men, all in the name of research, then you can probably find me curled up with my Kindle, ignoring the rest of the world. I love my sports almost as much as I love my books. My other obsessions include red wine, hot men, country music, and all things Grace Potter.

I LOVE to hear from readers, so please feel free to contact via any social media site listed below.

Blog Tour: Attainment by JH Cardwell

There are many ways to capture a person’s love, but unwilling, full attainment is never the best option.
Life hasn’t been easy for 18 year old Reese Stanford. After a traumatic incident a year ago, she has a hard time trusting any guy. She finally allows herself to fall for the heart throb, Tate Justice, only to realize he too comes with his own set of issues.
Swearing off men, she meets a beach ‘god’ who will settle for no less than all of Reese. That is at least, until she learns a truth about Tate that changes the game entirely.
“I’ve got to go Tate, let me go…please.”

“Wait...” he stared into my eyes gently grabbing both of my hands and leaning his head to my forehead. “Please don’t leave like this Reese. I’ve never felt about anyone the way I feel about you. But, I'm worried…about you. Something happened last summer…something you were about to let Carter in on, but I know you haven’t shared it with me, because you told Carter it was awful, and horrible. Those were your words Reese.”

I found it hard to breathe. I looked deep in to his eyes. I could feel it….love I thought…love for Tate, the way he clung to me for his next move, his next breath. But as quick as the wall started to fall, it shot right back up.

“Tate, you don’t know what you’re talking about…I…I’ve got to go. Please,” I motioned to the outside “go, do your homework, or spend time with your friends…I don’t know just…” and I turned and walked out the door.

“I am where I want to be Reese, with you…” he yelled in the air.

As I was walking down the hall, I didn't know what the future held for me and Tate, but I knew I had to keep my secret. I had to.

Blog Tour: Hers by Dawn Robertson

I am weak.
I am lonely.
I am a slut.
I am strong.
I am Dominant.
I am independent.
I am Seven James.

My entire life, no one has wanted me, and that was fine, because I sure as shit didn't need anyone else. Blah, Blah Blah, insert sad story here about negligent parents, and shitty siblings, and you have my life story in a nut shell. When my college boyfriend dumped me, it was just icing on the cake. Five years, and a booming career later I am here to collect my revenge.

That was until a delicious plaything walked into the kink club I frequent, and rocked my typically un-rockable world. Causing me to break the one rule I have lived by since Daniel Alexander walked out of my life, never have sex with the same person twice. Ever.

Warning!!!! Hers contains sexually explicit situations that may be uncomfortable for some. These include FF, FMF, and MFM interactions

Seven is a man eating, ball buster to the extreme. She's sexy, kinky, bad-ass and in control at all times. She's a girl who firmly believes in revenge and in seeking revenge, ends up in a very precarious position. Seven spends 5 years, to exact revenge against her ex-boyfriend. Her big plan, take over his fathers company. And she succeeded, but when she walks into the boardroom on her first day, not only does she come face to face with her ex, Daniel, but also Levi.

Two nights before her big board meeting, Seven heads to her favorite sex club to hang out with her best friend and sometime hook up Star. While there, she meets Levi and takes him home for a one night stand that rocks her world. The man she can't get out of her head now works for her and decides he's not going to let her forget him and their time together.

Levi gets under her skins and we see why she is the way she is. Her vulnerability shows and it shows big. I enjoyed reading Seven more then I thought I would. I've never been a big fan of women who feel like they have to run over a man to prove themselves. But Seven, although she was tough as nails, I still liked her. And Levi, he was relentless and it was sweet.

I love the idea of revenge, although I'm not a revenge seeker myself. I like it when people get a piece of themselves back from those who stole it. Even if that's "wrong" so reading this story was fun for me.

“Anytime. Great to meet you Palmer!”

“You too, Phillip.” The sky opened up and the giant droplets struck the ground. Palmer squealed and tried to cover her head.

Brant grabbed her hand and this time she didn’t complain as they started running toward the truck. Palmer missed avoiding a puddle and stepped clumsily in it splashing cool water up on her jeans. She tried to hold her purse over her head but the contents spilled out on the now wet ground.

Palmer stopped running to gather her belongings that were all rolling in different directions.

“Save yourself! I got this!” Brant yelled to Palmer as he scrambled around grabbing lipstick containers, earplugs, and a box of Kleenex.

He held out the now soaking wet box of Kleenex and shrugged his shoulders. “Keep it?”

Palmer stood and started to laugh whole-heartedly. Brant was on his knees and soaked so that his wet shirt clung to his body. He gazed up at her and couldn’t help but laugh too as she was standing in front of him dripping wet.

Her hair hung in wet blonde strips around her face and her mascara started to create rivers down her cheeks. She bent over and clutched her stomach as she continued to laugh.

“Who looks like the drowned cat lady now?” Brant teased.

“Okay, stop. My stomach hurts from laughing so much.” Palmer looked over to the eight feet that separated her from the truck. She held her hand out for Brant and he slipped his warm hand into hers.

“I guess there’s really no need to run now since we’re soaked, huh?” He opened the truck door for Palmer so she could climb in.

Once they were warm and dry inside the cab, Brant took his thumb and wiped the streak of mascara off Palmer’s cheek.

“So, do you have a hair dryer in that purse too?” Brant joked.

“Ha ha. You wish. Whew! Look at us! We’re soaked and I’m freezing.”

Brant clicked on the heat and held his hand up to feel the warm air that started to blow through the vent. He reached behind the back of the seat and pulled out a sweatshirt. As he draped the warm, dry shirt over Palmer’s shoulders, she leaned in closer to him.

“Thank you,” she muttered quietly.

Brant took a wet strand of hair and tucked it behind her ear. “Anytime.” His eyes flicked down to her pink rose bud mouth and he instinctively licked his lips.

A familiar churning began in Palmer’s belly as she gazed up at Brant through her wet eyelashes.

Brant slowly moved closer to her and sweetly set his mouth on hers. His warm tongue invaded her mouth and ran along the edge of her teeth. A small moan escaped her lips as she matched his movements. She reached her arms up and entwined them around his neck, pulling him closer to her. His warmth and sweetness poured into her in the form of a kiss. She greedily sucked and twirled her tongue around his, desperate for more.

When he broke away she was breathless. She gulped at the air as she felt a flame lick through her body.

“I hope that was okay. I should’ve asked first,” Brant whispered.

“Trust me, it was better than okay. Feel free to do that again and often,” Palmer glanced at him and grinned sheepishly.

Brant laughed, “Well, good to know. How about we get something to eat? Are you hungry?”

“I’m starving.” But not for food.

Author: Mary A. Wasowski
Release Date: August 6, 2013
Genre: New Adult

Change is never easy. For seventeen year old Nicolette Vanelle, life is about to change... Relocating to California, Nicolette finds herself starting over. A new high school. New friends. New life. Attending her first Hollywood event, Nicolette meets bad boy Michael St. Clair, and unknowingly becomes the object of his obsession. Feeling overwhelmed by Michael’s attention, she escapes the party to go to the beach where she meets Simon Paulson. He takes her breath away, an inevitable connection leading to romance between the young couple. Nicolette and Simon’s happiness is short lived and their relationship is put to the ultimate test when tragedy befalls Nicolette. Can Nicolette find the strength and courage to emerge from the darkness she fell into? Will Simon's unconditional love be enough to bring her back into the light? Life can change in an instant, leaving you changed forever.

I couldn’t believe what I just witnessed between Michael and Nicolette. I wanted to punch something, and his face was my intended target. What the hell does he think he is doing? Michael is still trying to take my girl out from under me after I have warned him over and over again to back off. I cursed at myself because I knew I had no right to be mad especially after how I left her last night. I don’t actually have any claim to her, and that was entirely my fault for not making her mine sooner. I guess I thought she already knew. I have to tell Nicolette how I feel about her, but first I have to handle Michael.

“What are you doing here, St. Clair?”

“Hey, Simon. Lovely to see you too!”

“I told you to stay away from Nicolette. She’s off limits.”

“Why because you said so? I think based on the conversation I just had with Nicolette, she is single and very available. Again, she’s fair game, and if I want to pursue her, I will.”

“Not if my fist has anything to say about it. You will not see her again, Michael.”

“Be careful, Simon. You don’t want to go there again with me.” I feel my anger rising through every fiber of my body, and I wanted to kick his ass all over this campus. I go to strike at him and suddenly, my hand is being pulled back by Sam.

“Dude, chill the hell out. He’s not worth it, Simon.”

“Stay out of it Sam, this is between us.”

“Yeah Sam, I think Simon can fight his own battles, don’t you think?”

“Stay away from her man; I’m not going to tell you again.”

“Sure Simon, whatever you say.” Michael laughed as he stepped into his Mercedes and drove off.

“Sam… what the hell man! I didn’t need your help back there. I can handle Michael just fine on my own. The son of a bitch was with Nicolette, Again! He doesn’t get it, she’s my girlfriend!”

“Does she know that dude?”

“Know what?”

“That’s she’s your girlfriend? What the hell do I know man, I’m not even seeing anyone at the moment. If I had a girl like Nicolette, I would let her know who she belongs to, but since you are too much of an ass to tell her how you feel, St. Clair’s right, she’s available.”

“The hell she is Sam! I love her. Oh shit! Did I just say that out loud?

“What was that, Simon? I don’t think I heard you; you what?”

“Shut up Sam. I love her and I’m telling you straight, fucking St. Clair is not going to get another girl of mine. I’m going to tell Nicolette exactly how I feel about her today.”

Blog Tour: Breaking The Rules by LK Lewis

Title: Breaking the Rules
Author: LK Lewis
Release: September 17, 2013
Age Group: New Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Tour organized by: AToMR Tours

Morgan Lane has just completed grad school, and has accepted a job at Baylor Industries with the help of her father, who just so happens to be golf buddies with Drake Baylor Sr., CEO.  Morgan has lived her 24 years of life under her parents thumbs, and is more than eager to start living life and carving successful career for herself.

Drake Baylor Jr. is being groomed to take over as CEO of Baylor Industries upon his father’s retirement.  Although he was raised in an affluent household, his formative years were rough, leading to a string of bad decisions, and hard lived years.  In order to take over as CEO, his father has given him a set of rules to live by for an indefinite period of time: No drugs, limited alcohol consumption, and absolutely no relationships whatsoever with women-his greatest weakness.  If Drake can abstain from those three things, work hard, and gain his father’s trust, he can have the keys to the Kingdome.
Drake meets Morgan on her first day at Baylor Industries, and the phrase “love at first sight” doesn’t even come close to describing what is felt between them.  Their instant attraction is a magnetic pull that is stronger than either one of them can handle.  Now Drake and Morgan are faced with figuring out how to fight for their future together, hoping not to get caught “Breaking the Rules”.

Author’s Take on Morgan Lane

Morgan Lane may have been raised to be the perfect future Mrs. Doctor’s wife, but in reality, she just wanted to find happiness living her life for herself, not for anyone else. Although her etiquette classes taught refinement and poise, I love that she has a little spunk and when speaking her mind, she usually adds a little “stank” to her tone. It shows that she’s still her own person, and I really admire that.
Morgan can be known to drink way through a meal, and almost always celebrates happy hour at some time during the day, but she always offsets the alcohol intake with a balanced meal and plenty of exercise. Morgan found at an early age that running offered her time alone with her thoughts, as well as time from her parent’s constant..well..parenting.

Morgan has unusually long legs for her petite frame, something Drake finds very sexy. He also has found himself lost in her beautiful hazel eyes on more than one occasion. Always perfectly put together, Morgan’s long strawberry blonde hair is never out of place, and she has been known to wear it in many styles that suit the occasion; long and straight down her back for the office, in a knot on her head for the bath, a low side fishtail braid for the bowling alley, Morgan is always styled to perfection. Although it’s obvious that Drake is attracted all of Morgan’s physical attributes, he often compliments her on her intelligence, and the way she’s able to surprise him with a new and thoughtful perspective at every turn.

She may usually seem wise beyond her years, but Morgan loves to be silly. She has often said that one of the things she loves the most about her best friend Amanda, is how she feels free to act her age and be silly when they are together. The typical twenty four year olds that they are, they can usually be seen shopping, dancing, laughing, and gossiping together. Amanda brings out the youth in Morgan, and she loves her for it, it’s one of the many reasons they’ve been besties for so long!

Unknown Fact: After one too many rum punches at a sigma-chi luau in college, Morgan and Amanda had a little make-out session behind the tiki-tent. Although this was by far the craziest thing Morgan had ever done, she will deny it until she takes her last breath. So will Amanda.

Blog Tour: Falling Behind by Dee Avila

Title: Falling Behind
Author: Dee Avila
Genre: Mature Young Adult
Release Date: June 2013
Hosted by: Love Between the Sheets

Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes and Noble | Smashwords

Going into the her second year of high school in the rural town of Laton, Reese was ready to come out of her shell, experience life with her best friends and find a way to tell Titus she wanted to be more than friends. When Josh, the new student, shows up on the first day and a whirlwind relationship starts between him and Reese, she was in her own world and barely noticed her friend spiraling downhill. The night Josh pushed her to far her best friend died, causing her own world to spiral.

Trying to move on from losing her best friend and ignore what Josh did to her, Reese pulls away from everyone. She had to overcome her fears and face her demons to be able to move forward.

“Can you believe what a slut Reese is?” The short blonde asked, loudly.
“Right? Who has sex in the orchard when there’s a party going on?”
I clenched my fists, ready to slam them into their faces. I spun toward them, slamming my locker shut. “Listen here” I looked out at the crowd of students scattered throughout the hall. “It’s none of your damn business what happened with Reese after the Formal. Or Candice either, for that matter. The next person I hear talk shit about either of my friends, I will personally kick”—
“Titus, that’s enough.” Mr. Gustin came over and stood next to me. He turned to the rest of the students. “All rumors will stop. Immediately. The events that happened over the weekend are no one’s business. The next student I hear talking about it, will be suspended.” He looked around to everyone. “Any questions?”
Most everyone mumbled no or shook their heads, Josh was the exception. “Since I was involved, that means I can talk about it all I want.” He laughed. The ass laughed. I lunged forward, ready to punch his damn face again, when Mr. Gustin clasped my shoulder and steered me toward his office.  Mr. Gustin opened his door and motioned for me to go in.

I'm a wife and mother of four. I have been writing for as long as I can remember. I use to write fairy tales when I was in grade school, but now I love writing about those tough high school years and how one decision can change the course of your life. Friendships, first loves and over coming the odds all interest me.

Three years ago, I decided life was too short to waste my stories by letting them collect dust on my shelves. I researched querying, took a few writing workshops and wrote the whole time. I first ventured away from what I normally wrote and tried a Paranormal Romance. That novel is tucked safely away. A year ago I chose to go back to my roots and write what I love - friendships, love and choices - how speaking out can save a life, maybe yours or a friends.

I talked to other authors and made wonderful friends. That's when I learned about self-publishing. I'm glad I followed through. I was so nervous to hit publish, but now I am grateful for the encouragement. It was the best decision I've ever made.

I'm usually in front of my laptop. When I'm not writing I am either trying to catch up on a weeks worth of laundry or on Facebook. I am a huge procrastinator. Usually close to a deadline, you can find me actually cleaning house just so I don't have to hit send. I think sending my books out to betas and my editor is the second scariest thing in the world. I love Rockstars and PB&J sandwiches. (Not the healthiest I know but it’s the fastest and it tastes good.)

I love meeting new people, find me on Facebook or Twitter
